Itinerary:
DAY 1: CROSSING PUERTO MALDONADO – TAMBOPATA.
Reception at the airport and transfer to the WASAI Hotel, where you will receive our welcome with a delicious cocktail or tropical juice and an explanation about the Amazon tour. Then, we will embark by boat with an outboard motor and we will travel for approximately 3 and 1/2 hours along the Tambopata River, to the WASAI Tambopata Lodge & Research Center (Box lunch on board).
During the journey we will observe the farms of settlers and birds of various species. We will have the opportunity to see families of capybaras, the largest rodents in the world, on the way. Then we will have our reception and accommodation at the Lodge. After a short rest, we will make a first visit to the surrounding forest or visit the Cat Falls, where we will enjoy a bath in a «natural Jacuzzi». After dinner we will make a night visit to the forest to observe and hear insects and frogs of various colors, and perhaps an occasional encounter with nocturnal mammals. The various sounds of the jungle will accompany our first night in the Amazon.
DAY 2: COLPA DE GUACAMAYOS.
We will get up early (4 a.m.) and have a light coffee or mate to start our 40-minute journey upriver towards the Colpa de Guacamayos de El Chuncho, in the Bahuaja-Sonene National Park. We will have the opportunity to enjoy beautiful natural settings and wildlife on the banks of the Tambopata River. Upon arrival, weather conditions permitting, we can observe one of the greatest spectacles of wildlife: hundreds of parrots and macaws of various species descending to feed on the mud of a ravine. It is an experience you will never forget. Then we will walk along the river beach in search of animal tracks while we have a snack. We will return to the Lodge to have a mid-morning breakfast.
After a short rest, we will cross the river to visit a small tributary called the Gato River on the opposite bank, where there is a small waterfall, suitable for swimming and taking a refreshing dip. Back at the lodge, we will have lunch and have a rest. The moment is appropriate to observe the large number of birds that fly around the lodge. Then, in the middle of the afternoon we will take a guided walk through the nearby forests and observe the flora and fauna.
We will see the sunset, progressively, the sounds of the birds and daytime insects will give way to the sounds of the night. With the dark night we will make a journey in search of alligators and other nocturnal species. After dinner we can rest and enjoy the last night in the Amazon. Overnight at Wasai Tambopata Lodge.
DAY 3: TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT.
Breakfast and transfer by boat to Puerto Maldonado, new opportunities to observe the Amazonian landscape, flora and fauna, in Puerto Maldonado a bus will take you to the airport, to end this Puerto Maldonado Tour of three days.
Hanging bridges of Tambopata
Do you want more fun and adventure? You can book a two-hour tour of the hanging bridges of this Amazon reserve. It is available for the first or last day of the circuit, depending on your arrival and departure time from Puerto Maldonado.
Accommodation
The circuit includes accommodation in private cabins near the Madre de Dios River, on a full board basis. Lunch and dinner include a starter, a main course, dessert and non-alcoholic drinks. Juices, coffee, eggs, fried banana and other products are offered at breakfast.

Luggage; Large suitcases will stay in our offices in Puerto Maldonado, our boats are for passengers only, we recommend bringing a small backpack with everything you need for your stay at the lodge.
