What is the Inti Raymi?

The Inti Raymi or Fiesta del Sol is a celebration that revalues ??the Inca tradition in the regions of the Andes, especially in the city of Cusco.

This festival is based on the ancient Inca ceremony known as the Wawa Inti Raymi. This ancient ritual was established by Pachacutec in the 1430s approximately.

The objective was to reorganize the empire with the cultural submission of the conquered peoples. With the passage of time, this ceremony was prohibited by the Spanish conquerors.

Since 1944, the city of Cusco celebrates this festival as a vindication of the Inca culture and as a tourist attraction. Although this festival is also celebrated in Ecuador and other Andean regions; today it is one of the main festivities of Peru.

When is celebrated the Inti Raymi Perú 2024?

On June 24 of each year, Cusco celebrates the Inti Raymi. This date is due to the fact that it coincides with the Day of the Peasant.

In Cusco, that date was declared a holiday. June is considered the jubilee month of Cusco, not only for the celebration of this festival but also for the famous Corpus Christi.

Inti Raymi Cusco 2022 is held in these 3 places

The Inti Raymi takes place in the same places where the Incas celebrated the sun worship ceremony hundreds of years ago: the archaeological site of Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), the Main Square of Cusco and the fortress of Sacsayhuaman.

The most important temple in the time of the Incas where the sun and other gods (the moon, the stars, the earth and more) were worshiped. It is believed that the Qoricancha was covered with gold and silver during the Inca Empire.

Main Square of Cusco

This square is the main urban point of the city of Cusco. The Incas held the ‘Fiesta del Sol’ there, surrounded by the main temples of the city. Today, the square is surrounded by churches, restaurants, and craft shops.

Sacsayhuaman was one of the most monumental and important buildings of the Incas. It is still a mystery how their stone walls of up to 125 tons fit together like a puzzle.

This festival takes place every June 24 on the winter solstice, in the imperial city of Cusco, a very important date for the Incas throughout the empire, to welcome the sun god.

The Inti Raymi lasts all day, it starts at 7:00 in the morning. until 4 in the afternoon. We will pick you up from your hotel at 6:00 am to go to the Temple of the Qorikancha.

The Inti Raymi Cusco Tour 2021 begins with the pick up from your hotel, to go to the starting point of the Inti Raymi ceremony.

This ceremony begins in the Sacred Temple of QoriKancha, there the Inca makes his first appearance, performs the first rituals thanking the sun god for the crops and for the fertile lands.

Then the Inca goes to the Plaza de Armas of Cusco, then continues to the fortress of Saqsayhuaman, our transport will take them to Saqsayhuaman where the ceremony to the sun god will begin.

Saqsayhuaman is the magical place to enjoy this event, there the 4 of theirs represent their dances to the rhythm of Andean music, the Inca along with his curacas (head of each of his) perform a ritual sacrificing a black flame to offer it to the sun god.

Perfeito!!!!!

As Vans eram confortáveis.

TOUR 7 LAGUNAS CON DIEGO GO!
