Upon our arrival we will board a motor boat, which has comfortable seats and a small outdoor terrace.
Shortly after half an hour, we will be arriving at the Uros community, an impressive place with cattail platforms.
These platforms serve as a base for a number of rustic houses where families of Quechua and Aymara origin live.
Here we will learn through our guide about the Uros society, about its history, habits and customs.
Before the Incas conquered Lake Titicaca, the Uros are said to have lived on the shores of the lake in rustic villages.
Due to the Inca invasion, the Uros were forced to look for a safe place, which is how they came to create this place.
Consequently, they built floating platforms and made their own houses, thus creating their little world.
In addition to using the totora as the basis of their homes, they also used these reeds to design their boats, beds, furniture and other elementary things to survive.
After our visit to the Uros Islands, we will return to our boat and continue to Taquile Island.
Taquile is a traditional Quechua-speaking community, located in the heart of Lake Titicaca.
Once in the port of Taquile, we follow a narrow path towards the center of the island.
During the route, we will enjoy impressive landscapes, with the beautiful white mountain range of Bolivia as a backdrop.
Upon our arrival at the center of Taquile Island, our guide will explain about Taquileña society.
Additionally, we will visit a weaving workshop where the Taquile islanders make typical garments.
Among his garments, a colorful belt stands out, which represents annual cycles related to agricultural activities.
Later, our visitors will have free time to stroll around the community and interact with the islanders.
