Rainforest Expeditions 4 Days

The Madre de Dios region has to offer the visitor an incredible amount of natural scenery that will undoubtedly catch more than one traveler interested in exploring the mysteries and attractions that the Peruvian jungle has to offer. One of those unmissable scenarios of Madre de Dios is Lake Sandoval, which is located in the Tambopata Candamo National Reserve.

At an ecotourism level, Lake Sandoval is considered the most beautiful in the Peruvian jungle. This lake occupies an area of 3 km long by 1 km wide and its depth ranges between half a meter and three meters. The shape of the lake is that of a crescent and its waters are generally 26 ° C.

Lake Sandoval not only stands out for its beauty, but also for the diversity of fish that it presents in its waters. Due to the rich flora found in its waters, Lake Sandoval stands out not only for the quantity, but also for the size of the fish it has, among which you can find paiches of up to 200 kg.

Lake Sandoval is also attractive for those who like bird watching, since thanks to the vegetation it has in its mangroves and surroundings, it is the habitat of a population of more than a thousand species of birds, between migratory and resident, many of which are under threat. One of the most interesting species in the group is the Hoatzin.

In addition to bird watching, the observation of animals in general of the ecosystem of this lake is also another attractive activity, it is important to say that Lake Sandoval is the habitat of a varied population of species, many of which are under threat, among they are the giant otter, the black caiman, among many others.

Although Sandoval Lake is mainly attractive on an ecological level, certain activities that can be carried out in it are also interesting, such is the case of navigation, which is preferable to practice in the place between the months of April to November, when it is not posible the rainy season. The waters of Lake Sandoval are also attractive for those who like to swim in them in the company of the more than 6 thousand species of fish that populate it.

In order to get to Lake Sandoval, the traveler has to go to Puerto Maldonado, from this place, he must rent a boat, which in approximately thirty minutes will take him to the banks of the Madre de Dios River, from this point, you only need to walk, by an average of 4.3 kilometers to the lake. The walk to the lake is a great trekking route that can take between an hour and a half to two, depending on the physical conditions of the traveler and the weather conditions, it must be borne in mind that traveling in the rainy season makes the path more difficult, product of the mud that forms on the way.

Perfeito!!!!!

As Vans eram confortáveis.

TOUR 7 LAGUNAS CON DIEGO GO!
